PLE Conference 2011

This week Southampton University became the international centre for debate and discussion on the place of Personal Learning Environments in Education.

From the 11th to the 13th of July delegates from across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Brussels, Malaysia and even New Zealand, gathered together to discuss the value, place and best practice around Personal Learning Environments.

In addition to social networking tools like Twitter and the importance of reflective learning within education, eportfolio systems, such as Mahara were discussed in a number of breakout sessions.  The theme of learning as a life long journey was consistent across the 3 day conference.
