Catalyst IT Europe is pleased to announce a new partnership with the University of Warwick, which has selected Catalyst to provide fully managed hosting and specialist support for its Moodle platform.
Alongside managed Moodle hosting, Catalyst will provide consultancy and access to development expertise, working collaboratively with Warwick’s experienced in-house team to support the continued development of its digital learning environment.
Supporting one of the UK’s leading universities
Ranked seventh in the Guardian University Guide 2026, Warwick is one of the UK’s leading universities.
With Warwick joining the Catalyst community, Catalyst now supports Moodle platforms for six of the universities ranked in the Guardian’s UK top ten, reflecting our extensive experience working with complex higher education environments.
Why Warwick chose Catalyst
Warwick was looking for a strategic Moodle partner that could support the reliable day-to-day operation of its platform while helping the University deliver its longer-term digital learning goals.
Catalyst will provide a secure, stable and scalable AWS hosting environment, alongside specialist Moodle support, consultancy and access to its wider team of developers and technical experts. Working closely with Warwick’s established in-house team, Catalyst will help strengthen the platform and support its continued development.
The University of Warwick has selected Catalyst IT Europe as its new partner for the hosting, support and development of Moodle, the University’s virtual learning environment. Moodle is one of our most extensively used and business-critical platforms, sitting at the heart of teaching, learning and assessment for our global community of students and staff.
As our ambitions for digital learning have grown, we wanted a partner able to offer far more than hosting alone: a comprehensive, proactive service built on deep Moodle expertise, with the resources to work alongside and strengthen our own in-house teams. Following a competitive open tender, Catalyst stood out. As a Moodle Premium Certified Partner and one of the largest contributors to the Moodle project worldwide, Catalyst brings proven experience running secure, resilient and scalable Moodle environments for some of the UK’s largest universities. Partner status also matters to us in its own right: it means Warwick’s voice will be heard in shaping the future of the platform itself.
This partnership directly supports our 2030 strategy, Excellence with Purpose, in which education is a core purpose, and our Digital Strategy ambition to build a cohesive, Moodle-centric learning and assessment ecosystem. Working with Catalyst, we aim to foster innovation and continuous improvement, embed assessment at the heart of Moodle and deliver a significantly enhanced experience for our students. We will be working closely with Catalyst over the coming months to ensure a smooth, carefully managed transition, with the new service fully in place before the end of 2026.

The partnership will provide a resilient foundation for Warwick’s Moodle platform, helping the University respond to future opportunities, integrations and changing requirements.
We look forward to working with the Warwick team and supporting its ambitions for digital learning and assessment.
