eLearning Consultant (Learning Design)

Team: Business Development/Consulting

Reports to: Head of Business Development

Start date: ASAP

Closing date: Friday 30th June

We're looking for someone who is passionate about learning design, to work with our team in supporting our clients to develop high-quality resources for their learners.

Job Summary:

The eLearning Consultant will work as part of a team that engages with clients and potential clients to provide expert advice on how to optimise and utilise learning platforms, in line with the client’s business needs and objectives. The core aspect of the role will be supporting the Pedagogy and Community Practice Lead with learning design and content development tasks. The role will also involve driving the depth of existing client relationships, through training opportunities, demonstrations and account management communications, with a view to building upon the existing portfolio of work.

The role will primarily support the activities of the Senior eLearning Consultants, and also the Head of Business Development. The role will be ideally suited to someone with experience working with Moodle and/or Totara and with a keen interest in developing knowledge and experience with Catalyst’s eLearning platforms (it is important to note that Catalyst make use of native platform tools for learning content where possible, rather than external tools such as SCORM)

This may include monitoring sales opportunity portals, triaging opportunities and initial engagements with prospective clients. It will also include developing opportunities for further activities with existing clients. The role will also include participating in networking events such as MoodleMoot and Catalyst’s conference events.

This is initially an intermediate-level role, depending on experience, with a view to the continued growth and development of the successful candidate. It has opportunities both in the learning technologies/learning design field and in business development, marketing and sales projects. Catalyst offers a generous salary package, based on experience and expertise, including private health care, life insurance and other staff benefits which can be discussed at interview.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Reviewing course content and consulting on ways to improve learning and teaching

• Creating course materials using native platform tools.

• Providing demonstration and training services to clients

• Brand awareness raising through strategic marketing activities

• Acting as an advocate for eLearning solutions and platforms

• Supporting the SLA delivery team to resolve any client queries

• Strategic account management for some clients

• Keeping abreast of the latest platform features, Educational Technology best practices and news and ensuring these are communicated both within the Catalyst team and, where appropriate, to clients

• Other roles and responsibilities may be added depending on the experience of the successful candidate
